Peer Evaluation--Clint Peterson

For our midterm evaluation we are also supposed to evaluate one of the other people in our class.  I was assigned to evaluate Clint Peterson.

Historical Content
Clint did a great job of blogging regularly about the historical content of the class.  Below are some of his blog posts that are related to the historical content of the class:
·         Mormonism
·         Civil Disobedience
·         Modernism
·         Persuasiveness (psychology)

Computing Concepts
From looking at Clint’s blog, it seems that he needs to include more about the computing concepts that we have discussed in class.  I could only find one blog post that talked about the digital culture or computing concepts.  That post is on Hackers, and it was a great post. I think that he needs more posts like this one, focusing on the digital culture that we have been discussing.

Clint has done a good job of including images and videos on his blog, but otherwise there isn’t evidence of any other digital tools or labs.

Self-Directed Learning
Consume:  In looking at Clint’s blog it is evident that he is doing an excellent job at consistently taking what we learn in class and doing some research of his own.  On his blog he also has 2 book reviews, one on democracy and one on altruism, both which show he is reading additional material.

However, his Diigo account shows that he has only bookmarked 6 items.  It looks like most of those items are directly related to what his blog posts are about, but by this point in the semester and with the amount of blog posts he has, there should be more than 6 items.

Create: Clint’s blog doesn’t show much evidence of what he is doing to create material.

Connect: Clint’s blog also doesn’t show much evidence of how he has been connecting with other people, with the exception of the group book report that he participated in.  It is likely that he is connecting with other people more, but from his blog it is hard to see that.

Overall, it seems like Clint is doing a pretty good job with the learning outcomes of this class.  However, areas that could use some improvement include: the computing concepts, Diigo, create, and connect.
