Here are my nominations for the best posts from my classmates' blogs this semester. There are so many posts worthy of being nominated, but due to limited time I will only mention three. :)
Triclinium Experience
By: Sarah Wills
Nominated for: Historical Content: Works and Self-Directed Learning: Consume
This post is an excellent example of these learning outcomes because Sarah took a Historical Work we were studying, Leonardo da Vinci's painting, The Last Supper, and did some additional research of her own. For her blog post she combined what she learned from her research with what she had learned about the last supper, while on a study abroad in Jerusalem. She did a great job of connecting her personal experience and the class. Also, throughout the semester she did really well with regularly posting on her blog on a variety of interesting topics.
Book Review
By: Braquel Burnett
Nominated for: Historical Content: Themes and Self-Directed Learning: Create
In this post Braquel does a great job combining what she learned about the 19th century from a book and then she created an animation representing what she learned. She took a topic that we studied and then mades some additional information available to our class in an entertaining format. This post represents well the outcomes of this class because Braquel focuses on the historical content and then creates a digital representation of what she learned.
Editing/Publishing and the Digital Economy
By: Ariel Szuch
Nominated for: Digital Culture
Ariel's post is a great example of connecting the digital culture to herself. She wants to be an editor, so the direction that the digital world is going could potentially pose a threat to her career options. In her post she discusses what she learned in our class and then did some more research on her own. This post is an excellent reflection of the course objective of combining the digital culture with our own experiences and interests.
